Hands On MIDI Software was established in the UK
by MIDI song file pioneer Dave Clackett. It was
the the first British company to produce commercial
MIDI files.

Former Tina Turner Music Director, multiple Platinum
award-winning arranger/programmer Rick Kellis heads
up the American affiliate, Hands On MIDI Software US.

Our clients include nearly every major musical
instrument manufacturer and we are now recommended
by Roland and Yamaha.

We also provide audio brochures as promotional tools for music enterprises.

You may check out demos of the songs in our catalog and order online. Audio demos are now on that page.

Hands On Midi Software US started as the American affiliate
of Hands On Limited (United Kingdom), but has evolved to
include more than just a large catalog of quality MIDI
files (in Type 0,1 and for a selected group of songs,
Karaoke with embedded lyrics).

We now can deliver quality audio versions, utilizing the
original advanced and enhanced programming files, playing
through high grade hardware samplers and software
synthesizers -- plus the live, organic (as the Brits call
it) recording of key parts. Then we put it through the Pro
Tools|24 TDM Digital Audio Workstation for the best
possible audio rendition of your Hands On BackTrax.

In other words, we do it just the way the recording industry
professionals do it today.

The Role of MIDI Today

Just about all music recorded these days starts out with a
MIDI matrix, even if it is simply for guide-track purposes.
Audio recordings are added to the original midi to create
the final versions of nearly all newly recorded music. For
that matter, film composers are required to submitted a midi
version for demonstration of the film score, at least -- if
not for the finished score itself.

As with major recording artists, we can provide you with a
professional sound track of your song selection. We can
send you a completed backing track, on CD or as an mp3
online.

You can then use the backing track for your own purposes.
You can use it for Karaoke. You could add new elements --
your lead vocal, sax, or guitar. Whatever. You can create
a new recording at the place of your choice -- even on your
computer, using Digital Recording software that is very
popular and affordable these days.

If you live in the Los Angeles area or can get here easily,
you can record your special 'organic' tracks here, in the
Hands On US Pro Tools studio. Examples of recordings are
included here.

Audio Brochure

A recently developed product here at Hands On is the Audio
Brochure. An audio brochure is what the name implies -- a sound presentation of a product or service for the purpose of
promotion. The first applications of this concept have been
in the 'function music' area -- the providing of music for
various functions: like weddings, anniversaries, holiday
parties, and industry shows.

The Peter Cole Band

In the example provided, "The Peter Cole Band", music beds
were created using midi, with live instruments and some
vocals added. Screen writer and director Nick Kellis
provided the scripting that put into words what Peter
wanted to have said about him. This was then voiced-over by
professional voice talent Lee Hansen. The resulting
composite track was assembled and edited on the Pro Tools
Digital WorkStation. It then was put on CD and sent to
Peter, who took it to a local studio in Philadelphia,
adding his voice and the voice of his female vocalist. He
has since distributed the finished brochure to prospective
clients and has gotten 100% results in the first couple of
months.

The Audio/Visual Brochure

This is the next step - moving pictures along with the
sound. There's more to come on this subject in the near
future.

The songs are accurate reproductions of popular songs of all eras.

The MIDI files are supplied in GM/GS/XG-compatible configurations. They are sent to you via email within 24 hours of ordering, during the work week. Audio and MIDI file versions may also be sent by mail.
